Principal

Delmas Fernando Campbell was born in Jamaica West Indies to John and Hazel Campbell on June 4, 1961. After graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School in Bronx, New York, Campbell matriculated to City College of New York, and later transfer to Atlantic Union College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Theology.

He began his teaching career in 1987 at Bermuda Institute in Southampton, Bermuda. Campbell served as the chair of the math department and he also instituted various honors courses, was a member of the administrative team, sponsor of the Student Association, and the National Honor Society. In 1995, he accepted a call to teach math at Northeastern Academy in New York where he remain for two years. In August 1997, Campbell began his first 11 years at Pine Forge Academy serving as the Chair of the teaching Mathematics and later served as the chair for that department for over seven years. In August 2008, Campbell returned to Bermuda Institute where he served as chair of the math department for two years. On July 17, 2010, the Pine Forge Academy (PFA) Board of Trustees unanimously voted Delmas F. Campbell to serve as PFA’s 19th Principal.

He has a Professional Certification in Secondary Education, with endorsements in mathematics and science, and is a four year recipient of Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. Campbell’s stretched far beyond the confines the class room at PFA. Campbell earned a Master of Education, with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction, from Kutztown University (KU) in Kutztown Pennsylvania in June 2005. He maintained a 4.00 GPA at KU, graduating summa cum laude and was inducted into the Alpha Phi Gamma society of scholars.

Campbell is clear on his vision for Pine Forge Academy and its students, “The education of students must, of necessity, involve the partnership of the teacher, the student, and the parents.” He is motivated by the philosophy “that every child can learn” and that “brilliance unaccompanied by discipline often exist in the realm of mediocrity.”
