Suspension Policy
Suspension of students

  • The principal may suspend a student from school for a maximum of three school days for repeated violations of school rules. A longer suspension must be by action of the Dean Council.
  • In the case of a serious overt act that violates school regulations, the principal or dean's council may suspend a student although there has been no prior deviant behavior.
  • A student may be suspended from class. The student must meet with an administrator before the next class period.
  • A written statement will be given to the student and the parent explaining the circumstances causing the suspension, its duration, and the expectations for future behavior.
  • Absences incurred on days for which a student is suspended will be counted as unexcused, and subject to the penalties under the attendance policy. A student who is suspended will be removed from office for the duration of the school year.
  • Upon the student's return to Pine Forge Academy, barring no incurring of additional demerit points and completion of probation, the disciplinary systems begin at zero. Probation will begin when suspension begins and will continue for a period of two weeks.
