English I (Composition)
English I is designed as an introductory course to high school level language arts.
Throughout the course, students will be re-acquainted with some basics of grammar, exposed to literature of a variety of genres, and will learn skills for composition of the basic essay.

 

(African-American Literature)
English III - African-American Literature is designed to expose the student to a variety of works composed by writers of African-American heritage through an assortment of genres, themes, and historical periods. The class will also highlight the research paper and will require students to complete a total of two (2) research papers during the school year (one per semester). One research paper will be in the Modern Language Association (MLA) format and the other will be in the American Psychological Association (APA) format.

English IV (College Preparatory Writing)
English IV – College Preparatory Writing is designed to fine-tune the writing skills of students in order to bring them into harmony with entry-level collegiate composition. The class will also expose students to various works of British Literature throughout the semester. The course will include the composition of two (2) research papers (one per semester). One research paper will be in the Modern Language Association (MLA) format and the other will be in the American Psychological Association (APA) format.

Honors English IV (College Preparatory Writing)
