The Pine Forge Academy legacy extends to all corners of the nation. Our students go on to become some of the best doctors, lawyers, musicians, pastors, entrepreneurs, and teachers just to name a few. Mrs. Connie Smith Hall, Class of 1988, was named the 2023 Nevada State Teacher of the Year!
Connie has taught in both the SDA School System and the Public School System since graduating from Oakwood in 1994 with a BS in Early Childhood Education and a BS in Elementary Education. Connie also has her M.Ed. from Concordia University-Portland in Curriculum and Instruction.
In light of her recognition as the Nevada State Teacher of the Year, Connie was among 55 educators from across the Nation who received a special invitation from the White House to meet with the First Lady, Dr. Jill Biden, who is also an educator.
In addition to being honored as the 2023 Teacher of the Year for the state of Nevada, Connie was also named the 2019 Teacher of the Year for the Washoe County School District.
